Learn about bamboo in an amazing setting!
Visit us for a Workshop in the Grove on June 12th, July 17th or August 21st from 11am-1pm.

Classes are free, but please call 425-868-5166 or email to register and specify date - just so that we can arrange adequate seating and refreshments for everyone.

The workshop is broken into roughly 30 minute segments on different topics - come for the entire workshop or drop in for a segment or two:

  • Guided tour, brief history & refreshments
  • How to plant and contain bamboo in the ground or incontainers
  • Proper care & maintenance of bamboo to keep it healthy and looking it's best whether it's a groundcover, a hedge or a specimen
  • Q&A. Have specific questions about a new garden plan or an established bamboo planting? Bring pictures or plant samples (latter in plastic bag please) and at the end of the class our bambuseros will help you identify bamboo varieties, troubleshoot problems and discuss planting options.

Be sure to dress for the current weather as classes are conducted primarily outside -- rain or shine! Boots and sneakers are better than sandals for exploration of the bamboo groves and display gardens.
